This vintage marine ship lantern is made of copper and was originally produced as an oil lamp before being rewired in the 1950s with a porcelain socket. It reflects traditional nautical lighting used aboard vessels.
According to available history, the lantern is said to have been recovered from a Norwegian shipwreck near Brevik in the Telemark region around the 1950s. The copper exterior has developed a natural patina over time, adding strong visual character.
Previously used as ambient lighting, the lantern produces a warm and atmospheric glow when illuminated. It is best suited as decorative lighting or a collectible maritime object.
