This antique Norwegian oval bentwood tine box is dated 1845 and showcases traditional rural Scandinavian craftsmanship. Made in an oval bentwood form, it features a fitted lid, upright wooden supports, and a wooden handle typical of classic Norwegian tine boxes.
The box itself dates to the mid 19th century, while the floral folk art decoration in blue, red, and white tones was added later in the 1800s. The later painted surface gives the piece strong visual character while keeping its original antique identity.
