This authentic Norwegian hand painted wooden chest from the early 1900s features traditional rosemaling folk art decoration and a distinctive dome top lid. Decorative painted boxes like this were treasured household pieces in Norway during the early 20th century.
The warm ochre background is richly decorated with symmetrical scrollwork, floral motifs, and flowing details in deep green, red, and blue tones. The curved lid continues the painted design, while the contrasting green trim frames the panels and highlights the craftsmanship.
