This beautiful antique Scandinavian chest carries a hand-painted date of 1832 and was originally crafted in the early 1800s. Built in traditional Scandinavian style with hand-forged iron bands, it has the authentic character and patina expected from a piece nearly 200 years old.
The floral decoration on the exterior is a later addition, painted in Swedish folk art tradition, adding color and charm while preserving the chest’s historic structure. The lock is of later date and has not been function-tested, as no key is included.
Inside, the wood shows age-appropriate wear consistent with early Scandinavian trunks, making this a wonderful piece for collectors of Nordic folk history, farmhouse decor, or rustic interior styling.
