A beautifully timeworn Norwegian oval tine from the 1800s, full of folk art character and rich rustic presence. This antique wooden carrier has a striking dark painted surface with warm red showing through, along with the kind of patina and wear that only long use and age can create.
This piece is an antique Norwegian folk art tine in a classic oval laggakar form, dating to the 1800s and signed H.G underneath. It features an unusual locking mechanism for this type of oval tine, with a front wooden pin that helps secure the lid during transport. The wooden pegs that hold the lid are of newer date.
It works beautifully as a decorative statement in a farmhouse kitchen, cabin interior, or folk art collection. With its visible wear, repaired details, and honest surface character, this is a piece with real charm that clearly shows it has been well used over time.
